Bui Vien Street, Ho Chi Minh

Masses of mopeds and motorbikes head up Bui Vien Street, Old Saigon district (1), Ho Chi Minh.
Some waving Vietnamese flags as they ride.

Bui Vien, known locally to some Vietnamese as ‘street of foreigners’, is HCMC’s backpacking equivalent of Bangkok’s Khao San Road.
The road and those that surround it are noisy 24/7, full of traffic, food and drink is cheap, some establishments are seedy as hell, hotels are cheap, but all in all it’s a great place to watch the world go by. A few 30-60p Saigon Green beers are needed to ensure you sleep well though!
